Woman of the Hour (Netflix)

Come along for a chilling journey back to the 1970s with Netflix's latest thriller, "Woman of the Hour," directed and starring the incredibly versatile Anna Kendrick. Based ona true story, this gripping film takes you to a time when disco, bell-bottoms, and the bright lights of Hollywood masked darker undertones in Los Angeles.

"Woman of the Hour" unfolds the stranger-than-fiction tale of two starkly contrasting lives that fatefully converge. It centers on Susan, an aspiring actress played by Kendrick, who is striving to make her mark in the competitive world of 1970s Hollywood. Her journey takes a terrifying turn when she appears on an episode of the popular TV show The Dating Game, alongside a charming and seemingly innocuous bachelor named Rodney.

In 1978, Alcala chillingly appeared on The Dating Game and won a date with contestant Cheryl Bradshaw, who later refused to go out with him due to his "creepy" vibes. At that time, Alcala had already murdered five women, and his bizarre demeanor during the show earned him the nickname "The Dating Game Killer."
