"There's nothing to watch" is not a phrase that should exist in a world drowning in content. Join us every month to get curated content - from the latest and greatest to revisiting oldies - we'll help you avoid the dreaded “Netflix Block” and find something to watch!
Ozark (Netflix)
Season 3 of Ozark was aptly timed to drop and became the first binge for many during the pandemic back in March 2020, so it feels like forever since we checked in on our favorite money laundering family, the Byrdes.
The fourth and final season is upon us and split into two parts, with part one hitting Netflix on January 21st. To recap where we left off (spoilers, obviously), season 3 ended with the ruthless Navarro executing Helen in front of Marty and Wendy, setting into motion a dangerous situation where the Byrde family is deeply embedded with the cartel.
The season is super-sized, with 14 episodes instead of its usual 10. Although fans will be sad to see it go, it does feel like the show is going out on top - the series has earned an eye-popping 32 Emmy nominations across all the seasons, with 18 for season 3 alone. There is even a restaurant in the Ozarks named Marty Byrde’s that offers themed meals.

The Tender Bar (Amazon Prime)
As superhero movies and nostalgic reboots dominate the silver screen, gone are the days of the mid-level drama headlined by an A-list actor, so it’s refreshing to see just that in The Tender Bar.
Based on a 2005 memoir of the same name, Ben Affleck (The Way Back), plays Charlie Moehringer, a charismatic, self-educated bartender who takes his nephew JR under his wing when he moves into his grandfather's house in Long Island, New York.
The film was directed by George Clooney (The Midnight Sky), and Affleck is already getting noticed for his performance, picking up a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.
The Tender Bar debuts on Prime January 7th.

Search Party (Crave)
Another show that is coming to end in the new year is the wildly underrated Search Party, which will be calling it quits after a fifth and final season.
This genre-bending show has gone from mystery, to legal drama, to psychological thriller throughout its first four seasons features an extremely talented and funny cast as a group of spoiled millennials who investigate the disappearance of a college friend, and quickly bite off more than they can chew.
Despite not much major award attention, the show has had critical praise heaped upon it and sports an impressive 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. The recent announcements of Kathy Griffin and Jeff Goldblum joining the cast for the final season could give the show’s profile a boost and help attract more eyeballs.
You can binge all four seasons on Crave before the fifth starts up on January 14th.

Book of Boba Fett (Disney+)
ls like a minute since we have taken a trip to a galaxy far, far away doesn’t it? The Mandalorian has been off our screens for about a year now, but Star Wars fans rejoice because your bounty hunter cravings are sure to be satisfied with the return of longtime fan favorite Boba Fett in the self-titled, The Book of Boba Fett.
series has been hotly anticipated ever since it was (spoiler alert!) teased in the last episode of the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian. Details about the plot remain sparse, but the show is looking to be centered on Boba Fett and fresh-face Fennec Shand, as they take over the territory once controlled by the ruthless Jabba the Hutt and stake a claim to the galaxy's underworld.
n Disney announced in 2013 the development of several Star Wars movies and TV shows, it was always in the cards for Boba Fett to finally get his own spotlight after being a popular character ever since his appearance in the original trilogy all those years ago. Originally envisioned as a film, Disney opted to make The Mandalorian instead, but laid the groundwork for a Boba Fett series that's now come to fruition.
Book of Boba Fett drops a new episode every Wednesday until February 9th.

Finch (Apple TV+)
The last time Tom Hanks (Greyhound) was stuck all by himself, he only had a volleyball to keep him company, but now he’s got a slightly bigger crew with a robot and loyal dog in Apple’s newest post-apocalyptic sci-fi flick, Finch.
Finch is set in a pretty bleak future, where Hanks plays Finch Weinberg, an engineer who has been holed up by himself for 15 years due to a cataclysmic solar event that has destroyed the planet's ozone layer and makes sunlight instantly skin-scorching. As Finch’s health begins to falter, he builds a robot to take care of his trusty canine companion and sets out to show him the world and what it means to be alive.
The movie hinges on Hanks’ performance, which he is more than capable of, and he carries the film with his usual charm. The robot, voiced by Caleb Landry Jones (The Outpost) and the dog give him some form of on-screen counterparts to play off that help him along.
After several date changes to the release thanks to the COVID pandemic, the film has finally hit Apple TV+, and while it might have been more effective to premiere on the big screen, to have another Hanks movie (see our previous write-up on Greyhound) be exclusive to its service is a win for Apple.
